Say When,
My co-worker resigned from the Library on Friday. Chances are looking good that I might get promoted to her position. Pay increase from $8 per/hr to $11 per/hr. I really, really need that $$.
In between college, work, and sleep, I’ve been steadily building up on my knowledge of my new recording software - Logic Pro. It’s vastly different from FruittyLoops- the DAW that occupied my passion for the first two years. Hopefully, I’ll pop out a new song towards the final days of spring break. The last time I released music was back in September. Must. Break. Drought.
Lately, I’ve been obsessing over stringed instruments, orchestra, and classical piano mixed with the usual house-genre influence. I’m hoping to add a hint of some heavy wobbles, creating an entirely new sound. Of course, much easier said than done.
In other news, I have plans to start producing music for a friend and his band. Pop-punk type sounds. With my new Macbook Pro, his Condensor mic, and my Saffire Pro, we’re hoping to get real productive and sweaty.
As of tomorrow, I’m forcing myself to take on the task of putting my first album, Amorous, on Spotify. If you are unfamiliar with Spotify, I highly suggest you check it out. Basically, it’s a way for you to listen to all available music through your phone/ipod without taking up any actual memory. It streams all MP3 files (in very high quality) via internet connection. It sounds very sketchy, but it actually works fantastically. Plus, if that isn’t your thing, you can “go offliine” and listen to music the habitual way. Either way, Spotify is a great place to discover related artists, stay up-to-date with their radios/user created playlists, and be able to see what all of your friends listen to. I’m in <3 with it.
Also, I plan on changing my Tumblr layout (yet again) and incorporate it into a one-stop area for all my music. (Area to download, link to Facebook, etc)
ANNNDD, I’m sort of hoping to create some simplistic typography on Gimp to make it look decent. Another task I know won’t be easy in the slightest. Still, it feels good knowing I’m making myself useful this spring break.
I still haven’t seen The Lorax, much to my own dismay. SOON, SOON.
Stay Amorous,
